The Welaunee Arch is a 4,800 acre property north of I-10 and between Centerville and Miccosukee Roads. The proposed comprehensive plan amendments present a master development plan for this property. Implementing the plan requires another large public investment in Tallahassee’s northeast quadrant. The amendments have become controversial concerning that public investment, the lack of specificity of the development plan, and the impacts for subsequent development in Tallahassee’s traditionally underserved southeast and southwest quadrants.
